Achilles reconstruct with Flexor Hallucis transfer-Tendon with "whip stitch"
1-insertion of Tendo achilles
2-Chronic Ta rupture 3-Harvested FHL tendon with an Arthrex fibre wire "whip stitch"sewn into its end.The FHL tendon is then sized with the Arthrex paddle and the BioTenodesis screw of closest size chosen accordingly. This is often a 5.5 mm screw which is 10mm long. The same sized cannulated drill is chosen(or 1mm larger) and drilled to 2mm deeper than the implant.Review BioTenodesis full technique.mov and BioTenodesis kit.mov before proceeding.
