The initial approach for arthroscopic ankle fusion is with the scope through the antero-lateral portal. Initially remove any soft tissue which is making identification of the joints margins(Anterior,lateral,medial and posterior) difficult.Remove anterior tibial cheilus if preventing neutral position of ankle or making entry into joint difficult.
