Calcaneal osteotomy - Moved as far medially

Calcaneal osteotomy-Moved as far medially
The posterior segment should be moved as far medially as it can be. The reduction should be maintained by finger tips as two DePuy Ace guide wires are introduced (2). Care should be taken not to allow guide wire or subsequent screw to exit the bone and enter the medial calcaneal soft tissue. To this end the guide wire should enter the posterior heel (2) not in the midline medio-laterally but towards the lateral edge of the calcaneum.
