Post operative protocol
Inadine and mepore dressings to wound for 2 weeks and as required.
Kellers type bandage for first two weeks.
Prevent wound rubbing on shoe wear with mepore dressing until 4-5 weeks.
Negative camber type shoe or stiff soled through rocker such as the Aircast Podalux shoe for 5 weeks.
Crutches week 1-2 as needed.
Normal wider fit shoe at week 6 and encourage IP joint mobilisations.
Avoid heavy impact (eg sport) until 10 weeks post op.
