OPERATIVE CONSIDERATIONS

PATIENT POSITIONING:prone or supine with sandbag and tilt. The direction of tilt depends which side (medial or lateral) requires to be accessed (lateral for Hagglunds, may be medially for pure insertional tendonosis).

TOURNIQUET:Thigh at 300mmHg

ANAESTHESIA:General

NERVE BLOCK:Ankle + local infiltration

KIT REQUIRED:Arthrex biocorkscrew anchor, lambotts osteotomes
