Lateral release-Deep peroneal nerve.
Use Blunt scissors dissection through the fat(1)for the lateral release.This
often yields a branch of the deep peroneal nerve(3) which can be preserved.Beneath is the fascia(2) overlying the interosseous muscle.A west retractor is useful to put the soft tissues under tension and assist in defining surgically the tissue planes.
