Posterior ankle release 1-The Achilles tendon
After Z lengthening the Achilles tendon (3)there is insufficient correction. The sheath of Tibialis posterior(1) is easily identified , immediately behind the medial malleolus and this is opened to allow lengthening of the tendon. The neuro-vascular bundle(2) lies discreet and distant from this.
