Supramalleolar ankle osteotomy - operative indications

The Initial stage is to arthroscope the joint to check the integrity of articular surface and decide whether the joint is salvagable. If not a corrective fusion is performed.

If a supramalleolar osteotomy is to be performed then a Fibular osteotomy will also be required at the level of the apex of the tibial deformity.
