Akin osteotomy - X Rays before and after
This is a severe hallux interphalangeus deformity. The deformity here clearly lies at the distal articular surface of the proximal phalynx. The X-rays show it is well corrected by removal of the medially based wedge of the Akin osteotomy. It is fixed with a DePuy varisation staple.
